White Ribbon Campaign goes Wild

WRC has co-operated with two days of amazing theatre by Wild Things Workshops in Oldham. They have been working with primary children from Buckstones School in Shaw, and with a teenage drama group in Delph. WRC's Steve Matthews and Chris Green attended the workshops.

The students watched a brief scene setting performance, then devised scenes themselves based upon scenarios they were provided with, and then performed them to the others in the group. Both events concluded with a handprinting session "These hands are not for hurting".

Chris Green of WRC said "I was deeply moved by both events". "The puppet work with 6 year olds about respectful relationships held the attention for over an hour. The work of the teenage actors was very perceptive and held a huge peer to peer learning message.   I was proud to be associated with such a worthwhile event and I hope we will be able to repeat these workshops with other schools  and youth groups."
