










Leisure centre has White Ribbon Festival Fernville Leisure Centre in Gipton hosted a 6 a side football competition and a mini festival of activities during a Gipton says No to Violence festival. Ther were free haircuts and shoulder massages, a White Ribbon Campaign information stall, Jobcebtre stall and information about healthy living . Lunches were provided for the players which icnluded teams of Gipton residents, adn a team from the local POlice Community Support Officers. Chris Green of White Ribbon Campaign started as a referee of the matches but then gave up as they were all played in such good spirits. He commented "We hope to be returning to the area to build on the great community work being done here. By having events like this, Gipton is an example to the rest of Leeds."![]()

Cheshire West and Chester Council has been awarded the nationally recognised White Ribbon Partnership Award from the White Ribbon Campaign UK for its multi-agency partnership approach to tackling domestic abuse.
Working in partnership with public, private, community, voluntary and faith sectors the award was granted to the authority’s Cheshire West Together project for its approach to increasing awareness of domestic abuse and support to families affected by domestic abuse.
