White Ribbon Campaign fully support the campaign launched by Women's Aid.
This month Women’s Aid and Cosmopolitan launched the exciting new ‘Real Man’ campaign, which encourages men to take a stand against domestic violence. We hope you will support the campaign by wearing one of the Real Man T-shirts and helping us spread the message that violence against women is never acceptable.
In July’s edition of Cosmopolitan magazine, Women’s Aid launched its ‘Real Man’ campaign encouraging men to become part of the solution to ending violence against women. The campaign, created by Grey London, features a number of celebrities, including Women’s Aid Ambassador Will Young, Duncan Bannatyne, Ricky Whittle and Gethin Jones, posing with props to challenge the stereotype of what a ‘Real Man’ is – with the message that Real Men aren’t violent or abusive towards women.
All the celebrities wore ‘Real Man’ t-shirts designed by Henry Holland. You can get your very own ‘Real Man’ t-shirt exclusively available from Debenhams for just £10. T-shirts with the slogan 'I'm a Fan of a Real Man' are available for women.
The campaign is set to run throughout 2010 and was launched to coincide with the beginning of the World Cup as evidence shows that there are increased rates of reporting domestic violence during big sporting events such as the World Cup.
Berkshire East and South Bucks Women's Aid have opened a boutique-inspired charity shop in Farnham Common called White Ribbons, to tie in with the White Ribbon Campaign to end violence against women.
