Fair for Youth - Hebden Bridge

This year White Ribbon Campaign will be present and supporting a local event on 21st May 2011 that is organised by the youth from our area, including some of our own volunteers. A new skateboard park is to be opened and a number of local bands will be providing the music.

Here is a transcript of the invitation given by the local councillor who is co-ordinating the young people's work with the Town Council. All will be welcome and have a chance to meet our volunteers as well as having a good time.

This year the young people of Hebden Royd are keen to repeat last year’s success of the event that they conceived and organised on Calder Holmes Park last May.  The event will again be a partnership between the youngsters, the Town Council and the Friends of Calder Holmes Park.  It will also include the official launch of the newly refurbished skate park and the whole afternoon promises to be an exciting occasion in very many ways.

One of the main aims of the afternoon will again be to enable organisations, such as yourselves, to demonstrate what it is you can offer to our young people.  So please can you take this as your official invitation to get involved.  Again, as last year, young people of Hebden Royd are very involved in the planning and organisation of the event and we hope you will agree to become involved and to take up this opportunity to demonstrate to them that there are a large number of organisations in their district that can cater for their interests and needs.
