White Ribbon Campaign would like to extend an invite to attend a seminar on the benefits of being a White Ribbon Authority in Leeds Civic Hall on the 21st of July, beginning at 10.15am. This will provide an introduction to the process of becoming a White Ribbon Authority, with talks from the Director of the White Ribbon Campaign and two boroughs which have already become White Ribbon affiliated.
There are now 30 local authorities affiliated to White Ribbon Campaign. This seminar is a repeat of one which we ran at City Hall, London in June for London boroughs, and was hailed as a great success by participants.
The event will offer representatives from local authorities and the health service the opportunity to discuss and take part in workshops to raise awareness of the role that the whole local authority can play in preventing violence against women and girls, and the benefits of the strategy. The workshops will explore the steps to becoming a White Ribbon authority and the development of a White Ribbon action plan.
