OCTOBER ACTIVITIES

First Student Placement

Hebden Bridge Film Night “Take My Eyes”
White Ribbon Campaign recommended Take My Eyes to Hebden Bridge Film Club and they put it on as part of their regular programme, We had a stall in the foyer.  Attendance of about 150, and lots of positive comments about how the film covered all the issues. It won 7 Goya awards , the Spanish equivalent of the Oscars Thoroughly recommended as an activity. We can advise on obtaining the film.



Sefton Equalities Partnership

Invited to have a stand at the launch of this organization. Support for us from the Police, the Mayor, MerseyTravel, and lots of other organisaitons. The event was very well organized and great speeches and workshops . Keynote speech from Chief Executive of  Stonewall, the Gay Rights Organisation.

York St John Student Union
White Ribbon Campaign met with Students at York St John Students Union, and offered them cakes for doing our questionnaire, as part of their excellent Domestic Violence Awareness Week. They also organized evening event sin the bar, including a Sumo Wrestling evening ,(Don’t take your violence home) and raised funds for White Ribbon Campaign.   

MMU Design Students
A presentation to Design students at MMU has led to two students taking up an interesting brief to design a new range of posters and leaflets aimed at accessing clubs clubbers and the music industry.

Orders Flooding in
By the end of October we are well on the way to 100,000 white ribbon being ordered.
The list of locations where activities are taking place has topped 100 around the UK. This list is viewable on the Supporters page

Women's Resource Centre  Backlash Event. The Backlash event was organized to campaign around the desperate underfunding of womens organizations, and White Ribbon Campaign was invited to be there to support the event. Over 250 people attended an great evening of short videos and presentations.  Representatives of lots of groups were supportive of our work, and we made many useful contacts
