White Ribbon - Silent Witnesses Campaign - Silent Witnesses are displays of life-sized wooden figures of women who have been murdered in acts of violence. Each figure bears the victim’s story and will be available for interested groups, organisations or local authorities to display on the streets, in parks, at universities and public venues to remind and warn on the consequences of disregarded domestic violence.

Service for Women against Violence Sunday (Methodist)
On the Sunday before Advent we are reminded of the nature of the one who is to come. We call him ‘king’ but his kingdom is very different from what people expect. The Gospel passage (John 18:33-37) reminds us that God’s kingdom is not one of power through violence (the model of kingship in Jesus’ time), rather God’s kingdom is one where truth, life, and right relationships are valued. Elsewhere in the Gospels we discover more about the nature of God’s kingdom. Elsewhere in John’s Gospel we learn that Christ the King has friends not servants, and subverts the notion of status.

Restored - (www.restoredrelationships.org) Restored is an international Christian alliance working to transform relationships and end violence against women. The website aims to raise awareness of the extent of violence against women worldwide, and what we can all do to end it. Central to this is a vision of transformed relationships between men and women. There are a number of downloadable resources on their website to allow Churches to become involved. Their Living as a First Man Standing resource can be downloaded from here.
